My Name is Beth- poem
The arrow man came to my daddy today
His face was young, but his hair was grey
He looked worn and tired, beaten and frayed.
He stopped my daddy smart,
He pulled out a blade.
“Where is Beth?” The arrow man said.
(I say ‘said’ but, in fact, it was ‘pled’)
It was clear he had no more tears to be shed.
The arrow man jabbed
The arrow man poked
But so silent was daddy,
Till he finally spoke.
“Beth? The Blond?
For god’s sake, she is gone.”
“Gone? Gone where?”
The arrow man did glare
“When we stole her away,
On that triumphant day,
We put her here,
And how, how she did pray
